The short version
Two things on Lottusa’s website use cookies: Google Analytics, to see which pages help visitors, and Google’s booking calendar. In the EU, the UK and Switzerland, neither loads until you accept. Elsewhere, Google Analytics runs unless you reject it. Either way, the site works the same. You choose when you first visit, and you can change your mind at any time with “Cookie settings” at the foot of every page.
What we store in your browser
Your cookie choice, in your browser’s local storage, so we don’t ask again on every page. It is kept for 12 months, then we ask again.
Your answers while you take one of our free checks, in your browser’s session storage, so a refresh doesn’t lose them. They are deleted when you close the tab.
These are strictly necessary for the site to work as you asked, so they don’t need your consent. Neither is a cookie, and neither is sent to anyone.
If you accept cookies, we also keep the link that brought you to the site (campaign tags and the referring site) in session storage until you close the tab, so a check you take later records where you came from.
Third-party cookies: Google Calendar
Our booking calendar is Google’s appointment schedule, embedded on the contact page and after some checks. When it loads, Google may set its own cookies (for example NID) to run the calendar, remember preferences and protect against abuse. Google is responsible for those cookies; see Google’s privacy policy at policies.google.com.
If you reject cookies, the calendar doesn’t load on our pages. You can still book by opening the calendar in a new tab, on Google’s own site, or by emailing ekasiak@lottusa.com.
Page statistics
We count page visits with Vercel Web Analytics, which works without cookies and does not track you across websites. It runs whatever you choose.
We also keep simple daily totals of how many people open, start and finish our free checks, and where they came from (for example “linkedin” or “direct”). These totals hold no identifier and nothing about you, and nothing is stored in your browser for them.
We also use Google Analytics 4, loaded through Google Tag Manager, to see which pages and checks visitors use and where they come from. It sets _ga and _ga_<ID>, which last up to 2 years. In the EU, the UK and Switzerland it loads only after you accept; elsewhere it runs unless you reject it. It is used for analytics only, not for advertising. Google acts as our processor; IP addresses are not stored.
Changing your choice
Use “Cookie settings” at the foot of any page. If you withdraw consent, also clear Google’s cookies in your browser settings, as we can’t remove cookies another company has set.
