What is Gatecast for Jira?
Gatecast is an app for Jira Cloud that shows hardware milestones and stage gates on one timeline, with the work, parts and suppliers behind each one. It works out whether each milestone will make its date, warns you early about late parts and waits between teams, and writes the weekly status for you. It is built on Atlassian Forge by Lottusa.
What Gatecast does
Milestone outlook
For each milestone: on track or at risk, the projected date, the buffer left, and the date you'll know for sure.
Waits between teams
Who is waiting on what, since when and for which milestone, highest impact first, from your own Jira statuses and links.
Parts and suppliers
Order-by dates from lead times, RFQs, quotes and shipments, and whether each build kit is complete, next to the work that needs it.
Supplier shutdowns and lab slots
Holiday shutdowns applied to lead times, and lab or certification bookings flagged before the slot is lost.
Warnings and weekly status
One list of risks with one action each, a weekly status ready to copy, a dashboard gadget, and results in JQL and Jira Automation.

Right on the work item
Every work item shows what it waits on, who waits on it, and which milestone it puts at risk. Try "what if this part is a week late?" before it happens.
Warned ahead, not at the gate
Gatecast logs every warning and shows which ones came true, so your team can trust the early signal.

Questions about Gatecast
How do I track hardware milestones in Jira?
Link the work for each build (EVT, DVT, PVT) through fix versions, then let Gatecast join them across team spaces into one milestone. It works out the projected date from due dates, "is blocked by" links and part arrivals, so you see slips before the gate, without maintaining a separate Gantt chart.
Does Gatecast replace a Gantt chart?
For milestone tracking, mostly yes: dates come from your Jira work, links and parts, so nothing is drawn by hand. Gatecast shows parts, work and milestones on one timeline, and every bar opens the work item behind it.
What does Gatecast need?
Jira Cloud. A Jira admin installs it from the Atlassian Marketplace and chooses who can manage milestones; teams keep their existing spaces and workflows.
